hi all - i wanted to ask......
is there a way that i can create my own subs for a movie.
i figured theres gotta be a way, (that you guys are already familiar with hopefully) that i can make my own subs.
the movie came with a .idx & a .sub file for english subtitles.
i was thinking that there might be a way that i can simply make a copy of the english subtitles & open up that copy with a program that will simply allow to me change the words from english to whatever language, keep the timing so as to not unsynch them and then just save the changes made to that copy and end up with both the original english + the copy thats been changed and will eventually be renamed .¿lang?.sub
as always - thanks all for any & all help/tips!!!

The .sub file isn't a text file - so it can't be edited.
You would have to open the subs in the likes of SubtitleCreator and OCR them to .srt format then edit them.
It would be easier to locate the subtitles in the required language and go from there.

    got that - thanks.
believe me i can't find the subs anywhere. luckily the ones that came with the movie are english and work perfectly. and the ones that ive looked for & can't find anywhere are the spanish ones.
reading your reply kind of made me think that i should start looking around for the english subs in .srt format that synch up really good and then edit those. (?)
problem is - i just dont seem to have any luck with altering / re-synching subs with the tools mentioned in the forums. i just dont seem to be able to get them to work the last couple times ive tried with other movies.
i swear i've tried, i just cant get it. gonna keep trying though for sure. will reach back with any update. in the meantime post any new ideas / tips you might have. as always, thanks!
    p.s. this is the movie : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091472/
