    Hi,

I'm using Nero Vision to create a DVD from an AVI.

Nero has options supporting 4:3 and 16:9 but this AVI is recorded in aspect ration of 2.35 to 1.

Is there anyway I can get Nero to retain the original aspect ratio and place black bars on the top and bottom?

I'd prefer the black bars over losing the sides of the video?

    Many thanks
    Nick

Hi. also ..this is not a reply to your question its just another question .i am using nero 6.6.1.4 and when i burn a avi file to disc then play it in a stand alone dvd player i get that letter box look where you have the thick black lines on top and on bottom of screen .so that when watching the movie you mostly only see the people's head's and it very annoying ,,is there anyway i can convert this avi file to dvd file so that it would burn as a dvd and i would get a bigger screen view ? ..i have searched the internet for days but found nothing ..so i have come to the place i should have come to first ..hope someone can help me with this as i have quite a few movie torrents that i want to burn to disc ..
    thats it .

    Ignore my original post.

Tried again using automatic option and the 2.35:1 aspect ratio was maintained.

Not sure what the problem was, I'll put it down to user error !!
