I am not sure if this is correct, but from what I have seen it is. I want to make a partition in my hard drive that brings windows xp back to its normal state with just all of the updates installed and a few programs so I know everything is default and runs fine. Should I just create a backup disc? I'd really prefer if I could just click reformat and get rid of months of messing up my computer. (I have just reformatted and want my computer in the state its at now for backup references). Thanks
Your best bet is to create an image back up disc and just load it off that. Normally people do it when they have done a clean install and use programs like nortons ghost to create an image and put it on a disc for safe keeping.
