Hi, I am trying to make a compilation music dvd from more than one of my existing dvd's (a best of so to speak. I have used Dvd shrink to rip single discs but it won't allow me to add additonal files later from other discs. I have also tried to combine multiple Video TS files and burn them with Nero but it won't work. Can anyone suggest any solutions/programs I can try it would be appreciated.
moose5150, (sounds like a men's lodge Try DVD2One in the "join" mode, that should do the trick for you Welcome to the Neighborhood Pete
Hi Guys, I've got a procedure I use to copy different parts from various DVDs with Shrink 3.1.5. The first thing I do is put the first source disc in, open the disc with Shrink, let it analyze and then select Reauthor. Now I use the start/end feature to select the chapter and specific scenes I want. Once thats done I select the audio and then back it up to a hard drive folder. I repeat this process untill I have everything I want in a bunch of folders on my hard drive. I close and re-open Shrink each time I change discs. Each created folder has an AUDIO_TS and a VIDEO_TS folder in it. To put 'em all together, I just open Shrink again, select Open Files and Reauthor, then use the browser to find and add VIDEO_TS folders. I then select Backup and use the Burn options menu to select my burner. Shrink will analyze the compilation and use Nero to burn with. Im sure there are quicker ways to do it but this is simple and it works. Cheers, Frank
Hey Buddy, That sounds so good I'm going to put it on a "Postie" till the question comes up again - a truely nice "Freeware way" to get the job done Uncle "P"
Fastfrank, does dvd shrink see these files as consecutive chapters so that you can select each video with chapter selection? Bad wording, i mean do the chapters work. Cheers. Bailey
No the chapters won't work, sometimes when I do a "movie only" rip with Shrink, I end up with a bunch of space on my disc so I just like to put things in. I like that "Broken THX" thing from Toy Story 1. Or you could do a little "Fight Club" type authoring if you like to f**k with your audience's mind. I would never do that sort of thing. Cheers, Frank
