Creating menus for DVDs

I'm having a bit of trouble finding software that will make menus that actually work for DVDs I make.

I have the VOBs, etc. - no worries. That side of it (video and audio) is fine. It's just the ******* menus that, for whatever reason, _won't work_. As in, the DVDs play as if the menus simply aren't there. And this is after a few goes with more than one program.

Can someone please tell me what free program I can use, that's simple but effective (I don't need flashy stuff for this), and if possible give me the basic gist of how to go about it?

It's been driving me insane. Please help!

 

I'm assuming that you are combining a number of episodes or files to one DVD.

You can combine episodes onto one dvd and create simple menus.
It has a foolproof 'Wizard' interface.

 

Which programs have you tried? This info is important.

 

try NVE it's not free but you can make a menu and pic which part you would like to watch first if you are making a dvd that contain different segments.
