I have a black Motorola Razr V3c with Cingular. I've recorded several clips of audio that I want to use as ringtones. Only problem is, I don't know how. I've played with the phone numerous times, I know I can make ringtones out of the sound clips in the "Sounds" section of the "My Stuff" option. However, my recorded sound clips don't appear there. I went into 'Settings' -> 'Tools' -> 'Voice Records', to find my recorded clips there, but they don't appear to have the options of setting them as ringtones. I would use bluetooth to just get my mp3s the easy way, but I don't have a bluetooth adapter hooked up to my PC, and I don't plan to buy one until later on. My package didn't come with the adapter, or phone USB plug. Does anyone know how to turn voice records into ringtones in Cingular's version of the Razr? Or is there any other way to send the mp3s to my phone without bluetooth or USB?
My friend ran into the same problem, unfortunately he doesn't have a motorola phone like you and me. I don't believe there is a feature that you speak of however...I would get the usb cable and run Motorola Phone Tools, fantastic program, it will allow you to do what you please, just read various threads in this forum. I currently have a funny ringtone with my buddies voice on it, sounds great.
I just got my USB cable on eBay, supposedly works with v3 Razrs. I got Motorola Phone Tools, and when I try to set it up with the USB option, it just stays at the setup screen and seems as though nothing happens, including my phone. I'm starting to think that it's incompatible with my phone. Is there some driver that I'm missing in order to set this up? Thanks in advance. *Edit* Nevermind, found the problem in the forums, sorry for the trouble.
I just got a v3 Razr and the motorola phone tools program with the usb cable. I can transfer audio files and ringtones to my phone but I'm having the same problem where it doesn't give the option in the menu to set as a ringtone. I really hope theres a way around this problem.
