An automatic critical update keeps appearing for my laptop, currently running Windows XP. The update states that if it fails to install correctly then I might have to uninstall Service Pack 2 before and reinstall again.

It gets almost all the way through the install of this 'Critical Update' before aborting and stating that the system may be unstable and that I should reinstall the Service Pack. Having read some of the other posts about uninstallng Service Pack 2 then I am reluctant to do this!

    Any advice much appreciated!

    Thanks
