Hello, firs of all I want to thank the makers and contributors of the afterdawn forums, very useful information is posted here. I want to FTP files from my PC to my XBOX and use programs like xlink kai to play online using my modded xbox, what kind of cross-over cable do I need for this (is it even called a cross-over cable?)? Can you give me some names of good (cheap) ones? And can these be bought in a local computer parts store or online? If online, please give a website if you know of one.

Lots of questions, I know, but I hope you guys can help me. Thanks!

I was like you when I first started and was gonna use a crossover cable but then realized the advantage of just using a router. You can use a regular ethernet cable with a router and still surf the net as well. Or you could have two nic cards and get a crossover cable. But, I would go with the router and regular ethernet cable. If you need help PM me.

Great thanks a lot for the info, I don't live in America, so ordering cables from there will take too long for me and I don't even know if they send to The Netherlands. Anyway, what exactly is a nic card and why would I need two?
