Hi, I just build a pc and everything is great but I do have one question. i bought 2 4850's and i installed them got driver 8.11 I believe. But when I go into the catalyst control center and then clicked on the crossfireX tab, I have the box enable crossfire checked however when i click on identify gpu it says one. It also says 1 under diagnostics when i hit the same option. Aswell as looking at graphics adapter it just says- 1.ATI Radeon HD 4800 series [X223W]. Any help is appreciated.
i just went to my display settings and it said dedicated video memory was 512mb it should say 1gb should'nt it. I also switched the graphics cards and they both work, but my system isent picking up on the other card.
How does the system perform under benchmarks or games? You should easily be able to tell if it is making use of the second card or not. While it may show 2 if everything is working properly don't be worried about it not specifically identifying your card. The 4870's also are labeled merely as "HD 4800 series" as well.
k here are the results Your system Fastest system 3DMark Score P11227 / 3DMarks P31605 3DMarks CPU Score 10272 / 29355 Graphics Score 11586 / 32433 CPU Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 / intel i7 processor 965 extreme edition cpu speed- 2997 mhz / 3406 mhz Gpu- Ati radeon HD 4850 / Ati radeon HD 4870X2 memory- 4096mb / 2560mb
Your crossfire is working. Your system will always show up as HD4800 series. To get above P10000 the second card has to be working. With an HD4870X2 I only get P12665 (that team got P30000 because they had two X2s and a very fast processor)
