Every once in awhile in Crysis ill get random lock ups that can last anywhere from 1-5 seconds. this seems to happen mostly during cut scenes. i usually play on medium graphics settings, on high i get 25-30 frames and i really dont mind sacrificing graphics for higher frames. my system specs are in my sig
make sure you have the latest patch for crysis which at the moment is 1.2. also make sure you graphics drivers are up to date and your chipset drivers. my crysis used to lock up as well and totally crash my system. i updtated my crysis version from 1.1 to 1.2 and updated my gpu drivers then it worked fine, haven't had a lock up since.
got all graphic card and chipset drivers are up to date already and im downloading the 1.2 patch ATM. also another thing about Crysis is i got over the net through newegg.com and when I put it in my dvd drive it makes these clicking noises for about anywhere between 10-30 seconds and then finally loads the game, could that be part of the problem too? I was thinking about just using a no dvd crack anyways
i use the crack as well as it is more convenient than having to find the cd every time. i suggest you search for a firmware upgrade to your drive. is it just with crysis?
I have crysis and it makes a clicking sound for about 10-30secs as well it does with UT3 and GoW pc but every other disc works fine. Maybe because its a DL Dvd? just a thought lol
well from updating to the 1.2 patch and using the dvd crack seems to work. it wasnt locking up where it normally did and also i just noticed last night that my computer made this kinda high pitch screeching noise but i never relized it before cuz i always played it really loud lol but now since i dont use the disc anymore i havent herd it so i guess it was the dvd or maybe the dvd drive. i was really hoping it wasnt my video card fan kicking that was making the noise cuz from what i herd the Sapphire Radeon HD 3870s were doing that so i went along with HIS instead so hopefully it was just the dvd
