Cut and merge with TMPGEnc with least quality loss ?

    I'm using TMPGEnc & Want to cut some parts off a avi movie and merge them to a single mpeg file (VCD).
    How to do this in TMPGEnc preserving the highest quality..? (even a guide will be useful)

    pls help.....

    The 'cutting' preserves 100% quality.

    You have two choies: cut the AVI first, and then encode the pieces (read http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/cut_avi_with_virtualdub.cfm ) or encode the pieces and cutting. But TMPGenc, for cutting mpegs (File__MPEG Tools + double-click on the name, is not the maximum.
    Better selecting Settings___Advenced___Select range and selectin the range there: in this way, the split point can be choosed exactly, for example whan the image changes between frame F and frame F+1.

    After all, for a VCD, the size of the any created piece is calculated exactly in advance: 10 MB per minute (for SVCD is very hard because it is encoded VBR, not CBR).
