Anyone know of a free program (or even a non-free one) that can cut an MPEG file in half to reduce the size? I'd be forever grateful for an answer. Thanks. :)

Cant remember the name of the prog that just splits it. But when I was making VCD/SVCD "backups" the 2 freeware progs were DVD Decrypter and DVDx which would let you split at 650MB or 700MB or custom.......Hope this helps.

There are a Few Free Mpeg editors but most I know of are for Mpeg2 files but there is one in "Tmpgenc" you can use to edit Mpeg1/2 Files Quite quickly and easilly...and DVD Decrypter is not a Editor and DVDX will only Split while encodeing, so download Tmpgenc and go to "file" to "Mpeg tools" to "Merge & Cut" and here is were you can edit....cheers

Also I have used DVtool for a quick and easy split. Check it out.

TMPGEnc's Merge and Cut is prolly the easiest way around.
