(Warning, no I haven't tried this before but it seems to be the most logical theory that this would be the cleanest and safest way for anyone planning or even thinking about cutting up their full size dvd backups to fit in the gamecube for people who don't feel like buying replacement cases).

To cut full size DVDs into 8 cm mini DVDs.

    The Cutter:

On a flat cutting place (nice flat scrap wood?) clamp the disc down. Use those clamps with the rubber feets. Adjust your cutting tool to the proper dimensions of a mini dvdr and cut. It could be slightly a little larger than a mini dvd as long as it fits in the gamecube.

After the disc is cut. Wipe off shavings if there are any? Then get some sort of epoxy solution, or Krazy Glue. Swab around the edges of the cut disc to "seal" it up. Again this is my Theory. You can use your imagination if you want to be more precise, but you get the idea where I am going with this.

I am sorry if I sound like a retard, I know cutting up DVDs is lame. This is just "for fun information".

Hahah lol not really lame, but if you compare the price for a full size modified case you wouldn't have to worry about cutting it perfect or epoxy or straightened edges on discs. You could save a ton of money, just by using regular sized dvd discs or if your cheap you can modify the top cover to fit full size discs.I modified my old cover to fit full size discs(this was before the full size modified covers came out),but everyone should pick up a full size modified cover cause there shouldn't be any excuse. They are cheap you can get a full sized modified cover for like $20 bucks, and you won't have to worry about the mini dvd discs ever again. You might need to do a pot adjustment depending on how your gamecube is(the drives inside of some of them are picky),but it isn't hard to get full size dvd discs to work with gamecube.
