Not so long ago, I installed the most recent PowerDVD. Two things bother me and I would like to permanently remove them. 1st: Nag screen I paid for it, but do not want to register it. Is there any way that I can remove that nagging "do you want to register" screen, that keeps coming up? 2nd: Start menu folder I organise my own start menu folders and so delete an application's own folder. I did that with Cyberlink's, but it KEEPS COMING BACK! How can I delete it from my start menu, PERMANENTLY? Thanks!
The Start Menu problem is linked to the "Language" service in PowerDVD (go figure). An easy way to test this is to run 'msconfig' from the Start Menu and look in the Startup tab. You can uncheck the 'Language' item and delete the Cyberlink links from the Programs group in the Start Menu. When you re-start, the Cyberlink menu should remain _gone_. There are better ways to permanently disable the "Language" service, but the msconfig gives you a quick way to test. Skrunch.
That "language" trick did work. Now I just need to get rid of the "register me" nag. It's not that I cannot. It's just that I choose not to.
Hi jlrm365 Was wondering if you found a solution to the Register Nag. I just puchased PowerDVD 7 from PC World and like you, I would really like to stop the "do you want to register" screen.
can someone please tell me how to rempve the "info" bubble from powerdvd? It says the info on whatever im playing through it on the top right hand side of the screen and cant take it off...its driving me insane! please help!
Right click the Powerdvd screen while it is playing, and deselect "show info" (not sure of the exact wording).
