cyclic redundancy check in some cds

    I have stored some movies on cd last year.. yesterday y tried to play them on my pc and i get this error..

    cyclic redundancy check :S

    What can that be?

    Not sure. But anytime I run into this problem I burn a new CD from the original source and the problem is gone.

    I have tried to make a copy of the offending CD and tried to copy it to the harddrive, nothing worked.

    I have come to the conclusion that it is a bad burn nore than likely due to the media.

    But still not sure. I throw them away.

    Yes, i read a lot and CRC is an algoritm method to check the full integrity of any data. when something is corrupted it gives that error.

    I think it cant be solved...
