dear friends, getting cyclic redundancy error on sex and the city season 5 disc 1. this is the second copy (thought maybe the first was defective). this is the only disc in the ENTIRE pink collection i had trouble with. anyone else have trouble with this or have suggestions? using dvd shrink to shrink/decrypt and nero to burn but it won't even shrink/decrypt. doesn't get much past the beginning before having problems. thanks!!!
Hi and try this From 1bonehead You have found a newer movie that shrink cannot handle.Soooooo 1) decrypt to HDD with dvdfab HD (free version) Or use paid for version 2) process files (all) with fixvts 3) shrink files with dvd shrink, output as iso/image to HDD 4) burn iso/image file with IMgburn all programs are free Imgburn, free from www.imgburn.com fixvts, free from http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_...ools/fixvts.cfm dvdfabHD free from www.dvdfab.com dvd shrink 3.2.0.15 http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_shrink.cfm and a guide to use all the programs http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/494836
so i'm working on dvd fab. it just showed me a message asking if i wanted to restart dvd fab with path finder because there was a problem. i clicked yes, but don't see any option to turn ON pathfinder. it's running again but i don't know for how long... i'm wondering if it's the disc. still, wouldn't it be weird for two different copies of the same disc to have an error when every other disc in the entire box set was fine?
The setting for PathPlayer are in the general settings, the green cog icon in the upper right hand corner of the main screen. If you click yes, DvdFab should close and restart with it enabled.
i have a white check mark inside a green circle? but i don't see any way to get into "settings" for my free version of dvd fab. and it says it's going to take 12 MORE hours to decrypt? holy jeez!
any idea what could be causing that? this is the second copy(of the same disc) having a problem. all other satc discs in the set burned just fine. should i go buy yet another copy and see if that works? could that particular disc ALWAYS have a problem no matter how many different copies of it i try? now my disc drive is running slow... took 45 min to record a 1 hour dvd! WTF? man, i hope i didn't totally burn out my drive. sigh. this is one frustrated girl over here. thanks so much for all your help and advice! gg
thanks for the heads up, rtm. i wasn't aware of the policy. just to fill you in, i already bought 2 copies of it... but the copies i did buy were gently used. maybe i should try buying a brand new one...
