Cydia closes after opening...

I have JB 3.1.2 iPhone 3GS - when I click on Cydia it closes straight away, I've read that I need to SSH to the phone to empty the UPDATES folder, but I'm unable to SSH onto the phone...I'm assuming I should have installed SSH app from Cydia beforehand.

So how can I connect to the iPhone with Cydia not working?

Have you tried simply turning the phone off and then on again to try and fix this problem?

 

sure and no change, it's a tethered JB, I've also tried installing SSH via the PC version of cydia (forgot the name but similar to cydia) but it won't transfer to the phone.

I can't restore the phone cause it wants to update to 3.1.3 and cause it's tethered JB it won't work.

Also, how do I 'respring' the phone to refresh the icons on the spring board...I'm assuming a reboot won't do the same?

 

How did you JB? Was it blackrain? Did you install rock? Use that to reinstall cydia see if that helps. Rock might also have openssh. That would be one way to go.

 

Only installed Cydia, didn't install Rock...may have to wait for JB on v3.1.3 :-(
