just recently got 4 d-box a nokia and 3 sagem. they were all working
fine but now the nokia and 1 of the sagems are playing up. A service scan will pick up all the channels but some channels don't have a picture and sound(even though the EPG shows what should be on). the 2 having problems have sportster 2.0 on them and the 2 that are still working ok have newmake-image 2.0 on them. I'm a bit of a newbie to all this so am i missing something simple or is there a problem with the sportster image?

    Hi,

If needed, here is where you can download the Sportster image that has always been fine for me:
    http://www.ifawilson.com/downloads/Dbox/Sportster 1.7+ uk05_2x.exe
This is a 2x image and thus should be ok for your Nokia, but not for your Sagem. This is because Nokia boxes generally have 2 chips, and Sagems only 1. There are, however, exceptions to this in both cases, so do double check before you flash. Some info that I found useful can be found here:

got the sagem sorted ended up using commando 6 image. as to the nokia tried various images before coming to the conclusion that the tuner is goosed. sending back to supplier who has kindly said they will replace.

just got one more query, when i was trying to send services.xlm to dbox using windows xp built in ftp, i could only view dbox in read-only said my proxy server wasn't allowing full access so couldn't transfer over. would be grateful for any help or if anyone could recommend FTP software thats easy for a beginner :)

Try FlashFXP, very easy to use.. Do a search for it but note it's not freeware..
