I put this card in my computer and i was wondering why this First connection can go to 1Gbps but its not operational. this First connection must be the onboard conenection, but when i had it plugged in before, without the card, it was at only 100Mbps The second is the Dlink running at only 100Mbps
i think you have the 10/100/1000 net card onboard for the 1gig speed. try another cable. also compare the settings of both cards.
the Nvidia nForce networking controller seems much faster but now it says its only going at 100 Mbps. why do i have a potential speed of 1gbps and cant figure out how to unleash it?
You will never run that speed n the net. You can only go as fast as the internet, but if you are networking two comps and they are capable each of one gpbs, then your network will run that fast. Like between my pentium 3 and amd 64, the network runs at 100 mps, but going out to the net the router is only running 5 mps. Hope this makes sense
