am I required to do these for the no soldier installation? Can anyone tell me a good tutorial for NO SOLDIER INSTALLATION WITH THE XAPTER? All I seem to find are soldier installations. Also my motherboard seems to be stuck in the xbox. Any tips on how to get it out?
Depending on which XBOX™ excluding version(s) V1.6a/b. You shouln't have to worry about the 'D0' as your Modchip should either have a PogoPin or some thin wire that you can direct to the closest 'DO' Point on the XBOX™ Logigboard. As for the LAN and IDE Mods There may well be One or two Chips out there that could alow this. Allthough I never heard of any! There are however plenty of Tutarials on the Web to give you an idea on how to mod your XBOX™ and how to add the LED's to monitore such trafic. But you don't need a Modchip as such to do such Mods as you'd basily just tap a LED on the IDE Cable to lite up the LED or not given the current state of IDE traffic...
Wow. Either I can't read or i'm an idiot but I did not understand that at all. I have an xecuter 3 mod chip and I am wondering if I need to soldier the D0, LAN, and HDD wires because I bought the xapter so I wouldn't have to soldier anything. I also intend on changing the hdd. I don't know if that affects my question though. After much work i did manage to get the motherboard out so forget that problem.
Again I don't know how / if the X³ can help you on HDD & LAN LED's. As far as upgradeing the HDD, goes! I'D HIGHLY RECOMEND you get ConfigMagic, to unlock / relock your HDD. The Problem is in order to use Live! / M$Dash DVD Playback etc.. You will need to use the Retail Firmware which requiers you to have, your HDD Locked! On the flipside you you try to install a Drive that (say from another XBOX™), or you wish to use the Stock 8~10Gib HDD in your PC. You will have to make sure that, that HDD is unlocked! Or you will land up with a nice Paperweight. Given that I wouldn't recomend you to buy a XBOX™ HDD off of eBay. So if you have any plans for that HDD, make sure you unlock it from your XBOX™, before you finally remove it for good...
