that remote is not compatible and will not operate the D11 whatsoever. I work directly for DirecTv as a service tech so i speak with a little authority and knowledge on the matter.
If you have the DirecTv Protection Plan they will send you a RC23/24 remote which is the remote that actually goes with that reciever. If you don't have the Protection Plan they will send you one for about $15 US.

call 18005315000, at the prompt, speak "Customer Service"

Ok thanks for your help, If you find out anything more about any kinda code that would use please let me know. It does have a code for the remote part, but no one seems to know it...either that or directv doesnt want anyone to know if because they want you to use their remotes only??!!

DirecTV can't help with that remote, it's not even thier brand. You would need to contact Sanyo. And since i know for a fact that sanyo has never made a satellite receiver, odds are it isn't going to work. But, how old is the remote? I ask because the D11 series is less than 6 months old and that remote may not even physically have the code in it to operate the box. Trust me if I knew if there was a code for that remote i wouldn't hesitate to tell you. The only possibility is in the code book that came with the REMOTE, look for Hughes brand recievers. Hughes at one time built all of our recievers but since we have started making our own, I don't know. It's doubtful though like i said with these recievers being so new. I deal with them on a daily basis. Your best bet is to get the directv universal that comes with the receiver, no other remote will operate every feature of that box such as the Active button and a few others. If you have any questions regarding the reciever, the dish, or any component of your setup feel free to ask.

Yea my remote is a sanyo fxwk it operates all of my tvs features that the directv wont. I just wish I knew that before I got into this because that would mean in order to enjoy all of my DVT and TV features I have to use both remotes, I know that you just work for them NP

is your TV a combo unit? Like a vcr or dvd combo all-in-one deal?
just found the manual for your remote, I don't even see DirecTv or even Hughes for that matter in the sat codes list, closest one i can suggest is the Primestar code. At one time DirecTv used to be Primestar before we were bought out by Pegasus then the subsequent reacquisition By DirecTv. Try the Primestar codes of 425 and 427, if those don't work then that remote won't work with the D11.
