hi guys... i have posted this on another 'da vinci' thread. i am having problems with this movie. DVD FAB rips perfectly to hard drive... but VOB Blanker will not clean it. It cuts out after 11% of processing. Can I just put it straight into DVD Shrink without cleaning it up? The movie is also huge like 7.95gb. Thanks for the help guys!
@wired_ What version is your DVDFAB Decrytper? Try to rip with the latest 3.0.3.5 or 3.0.3.6Beta to see if it helps. As for VobBlanker, try these settings in prior to process/clean/blank with Vobblanker. * open up VobBlanker * click MORE button under "Remove PUOPs in IFOs", then tick on the following settings: * both "Fix always VOB SYNCI/SRI pointer in Titles & Menus" * "Reorder VID/CID sequence if needed" * use blank cells in unreference "middle" ones * use blank cells in unreference "last" ones * Renumber VID/CID * Update STC * Then click "Save to Registry", and "Apply", then EXIT from there * Now go to FILE, then "VOBs Full Scan" <<==== this will scan the full movie (more safer), once scanning is done, click PROCESS!! as usual. If that doesn't help, the disc is defected (bad pressed), Sony is getting tougher and more nastier now, try to exchange it or simply use "RipIt4Me".
I for one have never used Vobblanker or anything else but Shrink (with IMG auto burn). On a few of the newer ones I rip with DVDFab Decrypter first. Then I open the file in shrink, select movie only and clean up the beginning and ending credits as well as all the extra languages. As you can see I am only interested in the movie and not all the trailer's, interviews, previews, etc., etc. This usually allows for no or very little compression. If it is a marathon movie, I will split it onto two disks with Shrink.
I figured it out , just use any dvd latest version in the background while encoding with dvd shrink latest version and it will make an exact backup of the original inc the previews. perfect !
I still am still having problems with this movie. I used anydvd in the background and dvd shrink 3.2. It works but after the encyption process it wants to burn direct to disc via nero this is fine. Whats wierd is that afer its done it plays in a dvd player and shows the previews as it should then it plays the movie. If you take it out of the player and put it back into the computer again any dvd still had to remove some invalid vobu's from the burnt disc. I have never seen a burnt movie do this before. If you record the disc from an image file it will not add the trailers to the start of the movie like it should. If these trailers are not there then the toc instucts the laser to look for them and because they are not there the player will just spin its wheels and say disc error. the trailers are right at the end( outside edge) of the disc then it comes to the middle again to read the movie. Is there no way to make an image file of this movie ? Even Clone dvd 2.9.0.1 removes the trailers and the disc will NOT work. dvd shrink is the only successfuly way but you have to let it encrypt it every time 30-45 minutes . Is it me or is this a hard one ?
Got the DVD, first attempt failed using AnyDVD 6.0.8.2 - so this is what you do!! Get the newest version of DVDFab Decrypter - Copy the whole disk to your hard drive. Make sure to have all other programs closed, NOT running in the backgroudn, i.e. dvd43 and anydvd. After you've copied the movie to the harddrive, then run DVD Shrink 3.2. And BAM! you got your copy of the movie! It took about 30 min to copy the full disk using DVDFab, and another 7 to shrink it. Good luck.
I'm using AnyDVD/DVD Shrink/DVD Decrypter and keep getting this error when I try and open the .iso file in DVD Shrink at 33%: "DVD Shrink encountered and error and cannot continue. Failed to seek in file "ISO File" ". I have tried uninstalling all my DVD programs and reinstalled them, ripped the DVD to my HD 3 times using AnyDVD/DVD Decrypter and same result at 33%. What's the deal?
That combo works great. Are they going to keep dvdfabdecrypter free? just noticed the newest version takes you to www.dvdfab.com instead of www.dvdidle.com and fab doesnt show anything free. just curious if anyone knows kurt
DVDFab Decrypter is the free decrypter/ripper from Fengtao, the creator of all the DVDFab products. It is not the DVDFab full version. It is offered at DVDIdle.com. On the bottom, select free stuff. This ripper has always been free and I do hope he continues to offer it as such. It is the easiest and most updated ripper out there. It is all I use on some of the newer ones like Sony and Disney before I use Shrink.
I initially ripped the disc (with AnyDVD running) with VOBB, so that i can blank all those trailers--and there were lots of them. I then opened the file with Shrink to reveal an error message (invalid navigation structure). So, I ripped the entire disc with DVDFab first. Then opened the files with VOBB to blank the countless trailers. Then opened and compressed with Shrink, burned with ImgBurn. After blanking all those trailers and removing the unnecessary audio tracks, it was a nice compression of 80%.
OK, just bought my copy of Da Vinci Code. I used Anydvd 6082, and Clonedvd 2901, did movie only, plus preserved menu's....perfect copy. Went on as smooth as slickety snot! Region 1.
Thanks for the help. I tried everything but still giving me errors. I eventually just put it into Shrink and burned it at 64% compression to fit a 4.7gb disc. The problem is that when I put the dvd back-up into dvd player it does not play. I have to click the MENU funtion a couple of times before i can access title menu. Then I can play the movie no problem..... Will try RipItForME.
It looks as though there are some that say they have got it to work and others that have not. I prefer for the disc to act as though its an original when its backed up. The problem seems to be in the toc instructing the disc to play : What should happen is this : 1.Sony splash should play 2.Will Smith Preview 3.All the kings men Preview 4.Click Preview, 5.Then its should proceed to disc main menu 6. After you hit play angels and demons preview 7.then warnings 8. then the columbia pictures screen 9. now the movies starts if this sequence does not occur then the disc is not backed up as the original. Also it will freeze up your dvd player, I had to unplug mine from the wall. yes some will eventually goto the main menu of the disc but you may have to hit stop play a few times. I did manage to make an exact image of the disc like above and i believe I used anydvd, then rip it onto hard drive with dvdshrink as a audio video file not an iso then burned it with clone dvd using write existing data. This was the only way...yes these were the latest versions of any dvd and clone dvd .
I did mine as my usual method; (1) ripped it with DVDFAB Decrypter (it took 15 minutes) (2) VobBlanker (took 5 minutes) to process and blank out all useless junks (FBI Warnings, all Trailers/Advertise, Extras, etc.), then the rest is history. Regards
