I am having problems with a .vob file, it is from a DVD that I recorded using my stand alone DVD recorder (for TV).

I can play the vob perfectly well with WinDvd6. It also plays fine in the DVD recorder.

The vob is 1 gig in size and about 58 minutes long. However when I try to edit this vob i.e. remove commercial breaks etc. using Video Redo and Xilisoft Video Converter the vob is only 46 seconds long, it seems to play the fist few seconds then jumps to the end of the video.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

I'd experienced similar problem with Nero. Switched to ImToo DVD Ripper, and problem fixed.

This is Probably because Single VOB files do not have a Proper Sequental Time Code....

If you used a Mpeg editor like "Womble Mpeg2VCR" and used it"s "Gop Fixer" tool it will rewrite the Time code of the VOB file so it is a Proper Mpeg-2 file with a Proper Timecode, Then you can use the editor to edit the Files the way you want it.....

    Cheers
