am i assed out? should i sell it? i just ordered a wiikey too ;( the serial is lu317126028 some help please!!!
so you're pissed because you bought a wii that is moddable and all that you wanted to do was waste money on a wiikey? LMAO, I think you're getting a little confused here bro. It's the D2C thats unmoddable.
I'm running D2b with a CycloWiz and it's great. Wiikey is the most commonly used but that doesnt mean it is the best. CycloWiz V2 or the Winja Delux seem to be the best. Look them up!
Wiinja deluxe blows! Don't buy it! I have installed many chips which include every type that is available and I've had the most success with the wiikey. My first personal chip was a wiinja and it sucked so bad that I updated to a wiinja deluxe and I still had tons of DRE's. After that I replaced it with a wiikey and haven't had a problem yet. I've installed cyclowiz's and wiid's and everything else and in my opinion, stick with ol reliable = wiikey
fazes23, you have a D2B chipset with most likely cut legs. This is NOT and unmoddable wii so you're in good shape. Order your chip and get someone to do it that has experience with D2B cut legs chipset.
^ yeah but what would be a reasonable price to pay a modder for his or her service? one guy was asking for 180 and thats just rediculous. im pretty good soldering things but i dont know if its worth taking that chance.
go ahead, take a chance. That's how you learn. Of course, you have to be willing to take the risk of bricking your wii. If you are modding for the first time then I'd recommend using wires instead of quicksolder method. It's not too bad, use a genuine wiikey if you choose wiikey and not the cheap knock off because the solder pads on the chip can come off if you're not careful
try www.mash-mods.com The guy is very honet, has reasonable pricing and mods and ships pretty quickly, Ill do D2A chips all day but Like hell would I try a D2B chip myself.
Seriously, before attempting to fix the missing leg problem grab your self some old circuit boards out of radios, TVs, anything you can grab your hands on and have a test run. Preferably test yourself out on something cheap, that still works and you dont care if it breaks. I am just guessing your wii does not fall into that catagory.
I saw a D2B Wii on ebay. It has its pins cut, but the seller has already dremeled it. Are these models hard to find in the stores? cuz my boyfriend could probably mod it, and I don't know where else to get one.
If they already dremeled it and saying they didn't mod it...chances are they tried and fried the wii and are trying to sell it to a sucker.
I decided not to get it because they didn't have a return policy... but what if they did have a return policy? Should I take the chance of getting a fried Wii if I find one?
