    hi there,
lately my windows has been playing up. it isnt doing anything all that wrong, but windows explorer keeps using up all of my cpu and it slows everything down to the point where i need to close explorer from the task manager and run without it, which is very very annoying. it is windows explorer, not internet explorer. i do have a few pgrms running in the background, but they arnt doing enough damage to slow me down at all, its just explorer.
im runnning with a 1.6ghz centrino with 512 of ram.

anything that u can do to help me would be greatly appreciated. thnx in advance for any help u can offer.

    Download HijackThis.
Create a folder in C: named HjT.
Extract HijackThis to the new folder.
Open HijackThis.exe and click "Run a system scan and save a log file".
    Post that log here.

    Hmm, log is clean.

Go here and run Kaspersky Online Scanner.
    Accept the terms.
    After downloading, click "My Computer".
After scanning, click "Save report as".
Save as a text file and post the contents here.

Edit: your running two antiviruses. This can cause competetin between the two which can result in false positives. You can keep both, just turn off the automatic protection for one.

I looked over Norton. That means you have 3: AVG, Avast and Norton. Turn off two of 'em. Only use one at a time.

    Go here and download KillBox.

Note: print these instructions or copy to Notepad and save it, you will be in safe mode and can't access the internet.

Restart your computer in safe mode(press F8 upon boot, select "Safe Mode" from menu and press Enter).
    Open Killbox.exe.
    Check "Standard File Kill".
In the "Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste each of the following lines below one at a time. Then click the red button with a white X after you enter each file.
You will be prompted to confirm, click Yes.

    [bold]C:\FOUND.004\FILE0002.CHK
    C:\FOUND.004\FILE0006.CHK[/bold]

Restart and post a new HijacKThis log.

Oh, Vundo was hiding, along with others.

    Download VundoFix to your desktop.

    Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
Click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.

Then, run a scan only with HijackThis, check these(if there):

    [bold]R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar,LinksFolderName =

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {849B9523-785F-4014-9CAF-079FB4A74C61} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\rfywbfhr.dll

    O20 - Winlogon Notify: mllmj - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mllmj.dll

    O20 - Winlogon Notify: winkve32 - winkve32.dll (file missing) [/bold]

Close all windows except HijackThis then click Fix checked.

    Find and delete these files:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\[bold]rfywbfhr.dll[/bold]
[bold]winkve32.dll[/bold] <--may be in System32, search if needed.

    Restart.

Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HijackThis log.

    Restart in normal mode.

Go here and download ATF Cleaner.

    Open ATF Cleaner.
    Check "Select All"
    Click "Empty Selected".

    How are things?

    Looks good. You're welcome. :)

    One last thing:

    Java is out of date.
Go here and download [bold]Java Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 9[/bold].
Uninstall all previous version of JRE via Add/Remove Programs.
    Restart and install Update 9.
