Dash Update - Need For Speed - And Ap25 Question, on firmware modded drive

Are only the Hitachi and Samsung the drives that aren't able to handle the AP25 challenge? I also heard that some of the older drives had mixed results. Have you seen a list anywhere of claimed success with the new dash on other drives?

 

samsung and hitachi are the older drives mentioned. there are several revs of the hitachie i think 58/59/79 im not sure which one doesnt support ap2.5

the mixed results mentioned were probably meaning the various hitachi revs

 

Had same problems as everyone else here as my Xbox is fitted with an 83850 drive so N4S HP wouldn't boot .
Then i remembered i had an old Xbox that was Red Ring of death so i opened it up and it was fitted with a samsung MS25 drive so i though what a result now time to try and fix it.
So i got it working and i already knew it was flashed as id done it before it went RROD.
So in goes the game and PLAY DVD comes up hmmmmm..... tried fable worked tried a few more and all worked except N4S HP .
Took drive out plugged into jungleflasher and its running 1.61 samsung ixtreme so i updated to LT for samsung and game runs flawlessly been playing over 2hrs .
So sucks for you guys that cant get it working lol.
Thats my story for today now back to the game!!!!!!

 

it would have worked with 1.61 but only with the activate disc. its better that you updated to LT anyway as its less of a hassle than swapping disc constantly.

Thanks i was gutted today when i put it in and didnt work i was gonna buy it on friday too so made a saving aswell and revived an old box!

N4S HP is epic graphics are stunning dont mean to rub it in lol!

 

I have old Samsung drive with LT and dash is some leaked beta Kinect Dashboard.
When I try to play NFS Hot Pursuit I have "Disk unreadable" error.
Abgx said that it had AP25.
Will new LT+ firmware work with my old Samsung or did I waste my disk?
I have another xbox with Hitachi, but I can't flash it because I get bsod

 

I found a machine that I hadn't cracked yet, with a Hitachi 47 in it. After crack, I could only read original disks. Thought the crack hadn't worked. tried it three more times, with Slax 2.1 CD for mode B, IX 1.51, etc -- then realized that it could be a DVD laser problem. Adjusted the pot all the way down to 2.8 Ohms, and now it reads them all!! I updated to the connect dash in the system settings, before trying the disk. NFS:HP just started after creating a non live profile to save. No install or anything. I guess the Hitachi 47, at least -- we now know, doesn't handle the AP 25! confirmed!

are these so called bans going to happen if you play on a live account or it wouldn't matter what type of profile?

cause i tried a NFS. didn't work, but on an offline profile. still warranting a ban?

 

Every other game that I have burned (there are 9 games before NFSHP) and they all have worked well. I use Verbatim and always burn with lowest speed with "Xbox Backup Creator" and always check ISOs with abgx. I don't use my modded xbox on Live so I use offline account.

My dashboard is the leaked 2.0.12416.0 and I managed to get NFSHP to work after I installed it to hard drive. When I try to start a race in Career mode game crashes.

 

I have hitachi 79FL WITH 1.51..i tried N4S HP it showed a message that i need to update my xbox360 otherwise this game will not run..i updated it , restarted, gave me this error disc is not readable..i patched this iso with ap25 in agbx360 , burned it again ,gave me same error..installed it on hard disk....same error.."this disk is not readable"..

only thing left is i need to reflash my xbox360 with stock and than 1.51. and then check with patched 25 N4S iso in xbox360..

 

I have a samsung drive that originally ran ms28 and just flashed it to LT 1.0 a few weeks ago. I've had no problems running backups until these AP2.5 games. I just get a black screen when trying to run NFS:HP and AC:B. Haven't tried running Fable 3 yet, but it's getting frustrating. Most of the forums say Samsung drives are supposed to run AP2.5 games, but mine seems to be one of the exceptions. Over on iextreme's website there are a few threads about Sammy's not working with AP2.5 games. Since LT+ is only for Benq and Lite-on what do Samsung users do to get things working? All of my isos are run through abgx360 and some had verified stealth, some not (I only play offline).

 

Did you use ABGX 104?

 

i have a samsung drive using lt+ and i am able to play nfs no problem on the new dash, plus everything checks out just fine on xval.

 

LOL. Too bad that firmware isn't on the samsung. LT 1.0 is most current for samsung drives.

Anyone who has a drive that doesn't support ap2.5 needs to stay AWAY from abgx 1.0.4 due to the auto patching with ap2.5. Since those drives do NOT support ap2.5, patching will make the game NOT work on the hitachi and samsungs. Yes some samsungs and hitachis will boot them but not all.

Just use ABGX 1.0.3 and use a game that is NOT patched with ap2.5 and it should boot just fine.

 

Fable3 works OK but N4SHP shows disc not readable. Using new dash which was updated when I played Harry Potter & deadly hallows. Will try AC2 and see if that works. Thought these 3 games all had same problem with AP2.5 but looks like I was wrong. Any reason why one will work and not the other?

 

Wow, Modking30, you are the flippin...well, modking! I can't believe no one else has brought this up on any other forums. I noticed the patching in abgx 1.0.4 and thought that seemed like a weird thing to do for a drive that doesn't take ap2.5.

So the answer is to run ap2.5 games through abgx1.0.3 instead of 1.0.4, and then burn, right?

 

Hello all , I need some help
I am running my xbox with a lt-on drive and I am unable to play the new Need for Speed, using a backup.

I do not know what flash version I currently have running as I did not flash the machine myself.

My dashboard is 2.0.9199.0

Patched image with ppf omatic and abgx1.05
Game asks me to update when inserted. Notsure if i should accept it.

its trying to install the new dashboard. dont do it from the backup disc. either update system with a retail disc, usb update, or online. and you need new firmware for your drive cause if you update the system and then try to boot a new game like NFS which has ap2.5 then it will flag your system to be banned if it isnt already.
