hmm well my xbox did the same thing,no dashboards and i have heard of a few things you can do. you could take your harddrive out and hook it up to your computer, or i think you can do something else you just have to get the files back on your harddrive.I am going to take mine out and use a friends xbox to copy his file folders and then put them on my harddrive. I dont know if it will work but i am having troubles taking the harddrive out. I dont have the wrenches to take the screws out and i dont know how to hook my harddrive up to my computer. Im stupid with a computer i know you have to find the id cable or something and then hook it up to the slave cord i dont knw if you know how would you help me please?

MX if you have a router and your computer and your Xbox are connected to the same one then you can download FlashFXP at FlashFXP.com and then use FlashFXP and that is a way to connect your Xbox to your computer and transfer files

sorry to say ,but if you guys al softmodded your boxes ,you're screwed if you didn't make a backup of your box's eeprom.
you could place you're hdd in a friends xbox if he has a chip on board ,otherwise same problem . fixed it myself lately but with the last possible option ,went to the store bought a duo x2 at 15 euro and soldered the thin in place ,wasn't as hard as i thought it would be . so if nothing works for you guys (and i figure it won't) buy a chip and you're troubles are gone .
ps. buy a chip with at least 2 memory banks
