I have played two copies of wave 4 games and so far neither of them have triggered the dashboard update. I checked with a friend who bought one of these games this morning and it triggered the update for him. I did a level 3 autofix with abgx360 for both games. So now im wondering if abgx somehow removed the update or if it was missing from these releases altogether. It's not that i necessarily wanted the update but it bothers me that it seems to be missing. srry if this has been brought up before but i searched and couldn't find any topics.
If you've already got a version of the dashboard installed that's as new (or newer) than the version on the disc, you won't be prompted to install. You can see if the update is on the disc by browsing the contents of the disc on your PC. On a wave 4 disc you should see 3 folders: - AUDIO_TS VIDEO_TS $SystemUpdate <-- This is the system update.
i believe the last update i got was a week or two ago when they added the framework for the n-adapter(at least i think that's what it was for) anyways i'm gonna check for the system file now. thx for the quick reply man.
If you updated the dashboard via Live a week ago, that's why you're not being prompted to update from a game disc. The wave 4 update is older than the one you download from Live.
Ok so the system files were obviously there, thx again for the help. I guess i was confused because i was under the assumption that the update on wave 4 games would install facebook/twitter/last.fm
That dashboard update is only available to people in the closed beta. It isn't being released for everyone until November 17th. We'll probably see a new wave with that update in it in future though.
