I was trying to put two episodes of lost onto a data disc via the autostart menu on my windows xp, by going into the open writable cd folder, adding the files and clicking on the write these files to cd button. But it says ERROR, disc may not be usable! but i have always used these disc for data storage and via this method, oh and for data disc I use imation discs, but surely they are fine as the drive reads it as the autostart screen appears. So I tried to use nero, and it started to burn but came up with another error! Also whilst trying to make other DVD's nero trnascoding comes up as estimated time till finish as 623hours!!!!! That's like one month isn't it! AAAHHHHHHH, I think nero is messed and my burner might be messed too, so many problems, what to do? (Hope this makes sense, but I've had so many problems in the last few days I want to jump of a cliff)
2 questions, which version of Nero are you using and do you have any anti spyware running during transcoding.
nero 7. I know that some people have said that it has bugs, but I never had any problems before just recently, and now my writer won't work. And I have AVG, always on, and ad-watch.
This is the reason why I asked, these progs operating at the same time as you are transcoding WILL slow things up considerably, turn them OFF. Nero7 also contained many bugs in some versions, which version of Nero7 are you using
I understand that it may slow it down, but it never used to happen before, for the last month or so, it was just in the last few days. In the properties, it says it it file verion, 3.000 if that helps?
I can only advise to turn off these progs, its up to you, you asked for advice and thats mine. Nero should look something like this 7.0.8.2 or similar.
Alright I cant find the real version name, under properties it just says 3.0.0.0. but I know it is 7. BUT, whilst looking I found Nero setup and went onto the repair icon. It sorted out my transcoding problem (its 2-3hrs again) and now I can write things onto disc again. Lost is finally on a disc. Cheers mate for all the help anyways, and I will take your advice onboard about turning the spyware stuff off if i have any probs in the future when it comes to burning. Thanks again.
