The next time you use Shrink to copy a DVD, let Shrink open Nero for you and do the burn! This is the easy way.

    First, enable Nero:
Open Shrink and at the top, select Edit > Preferences > File I/O tab.
Make sure you have "Enable burning with Nero" selected.

After you get your DVD analyzed in Shrink and are ready to copy it, Select Backup!
Set the target to Burn with Nero and whatever DVD burner is listed.

Make sure you set the correct burn speed under the Burn Settings tab. Select OK start the process.
Shrink will open Nero at the correct time and start the burn.

If you still want to open Nero yourself:
Make sure you select DVD-Video on the left to begin with, Select "New" and then add all the files from the VIDEO_TS folder from the movie you are doing.

Your version of Nero 7 Essentials may or may not come with the DVD-Video Plug-In needed to burn.

If your Nero 7 "Essentials" has the DVD-Video plug-in, here is a quickie guide for using Nero 7 Express to burn the files Shrink makes.

The Nero 7 Essentials StartSmart should look similar but may not have as many options as my full version does.

    Nero 7 Express guide:

Open StartSmart and select Nero Express from the list. Make sure it says "DVD" at the top:

    Select Video/Pictures:

    Select DVD-Video Files:

Click the Add button to open the file browser to find the video files Shrink made:

I have a Shrink target folder on my desktop. Inside are the AUDIO_TS and the VIDEO_TS folders. Click the VIDEO_TS folder to open it:

Within the VIDEO_TS folders are the video files needed. Select all of them:

And then click the Add button at the bottom:

They will be added to the compilation window. Mine look like this, yours should be similar:

At this point you should put the blank DVD in your burner and let it get spinning.

Let's set the burn speed. Click the small arrow on the left.

This will open an options window with the burn speed menu and other settings:

Set the burn speed to 1/2 the rated speed of the media. That's a safe speed to start with. Here, I'm selecting 4X for 8X rated blank media:

That's all there is! Select Burn to start the process:

For this guide I selected "Simulation" so nothing is being written on the DVD. This is a great way to see if your burn is going to work without wasting a blank DVD.

And here is what it looks like when Nero is writing:

Once Nero is done writing, your burner will open and you have a burned DVD.

    Cheers!
