Hi, All, I am getting no joy with Nero it burns no problem - but when it tries verification, it fails. I have tried clean reinstals, used Nero's General cleanup tool and still no joy. I have tried a few other burners and they are now having the same problem,except for Oront Burning Kit 2. Nero is my prefered software so I would like to get it working again. Hi RamRam1 Update the firmware on your drive - looks like you a bit behind. The latest is p3.6 What different discs have you tried? After you update the firmware try 8x or 4x.

Hi, I have a similar problem. My Nero can burn CD's just fine, but DVD's - not so much... I always get the ''data verification failed'' error. I've tryed different media types, clean install, changed my controller settings, but nothing seems to help. I've tryed to burn a CD with my DVD burner and it burned it without any problems. Hi inexces Here's some suggestions: Recorder: <LITE-ON DVDRW LDW-411S> Version: FS0B Older drive but there is a firmware update for it from 2006. So update it to the latest - FS0K. I'd also try cleaning out the drive w/ either some canned air or a dvd lens cleaner. What other media have you tried - the ones in this log are made by CMC and they're not that great. More ram for the pc would be good. Add another 256mb if you can. In the mean time keep as much free - close any unneeded programs when burning. Keeping up on the pc maintenance like disc defrag, disc cleanup and virus scans? If you haven't run them recently - run them.
Hey, binkie7, I really appreciate your help. I'm aware of my lousy RAM, I'm gonna solve that problem soon when I get some extra cash. I always close other programs when I'm running Nero. I updated my firmware and here's what happened. Nero wouldn't even write on the two media types I've used before (Philips and Verbatim). Than I tryed Fujifilm rewritable media and the burn process was successful. So what does this mean? That I need better media? Can you suggest some good ones?
Not a problem inexces Since it's an older drive w/ a max burn speed of 4x so I think your best bet would be to replace it. Newer media like 16x speed may be hit or miss on it. Depending on where you are a new drive is like 35-40 US. The Philips 8x you're using are made by CMC which is pretty much hit or miss anyhow - not the best. The Verbs though are good quality but if their 16x esp. again may be hit or miss. I still try cleaning the lens too. For this drive looks for 8x verbs, Taiyo Yuden or 8x made in japan sony, fuji or maxell. 8x media is getting harder to find in some areas but there are still a few good online stores where you can get Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim.
