Please can anyone offer any advice. I have recently flash a working Dbox (1) with what I now believe to of been the incorrect file. After flashing the box was still lit up but it had frozen. I turned the box off waited a few seconds then turned it back on, but nothing. No display nothng on tv...zilch. Is there a way to flash the dbox in boot mode like the eurovox, or is this box now just an expensive paperweight!!! Would appreciate any help offered. Thanks

    Hi
Are you talking about a Satellite box as I think the DBox 1 was a satellite box AFAIK and doesn't have an ethernet port to flash it with.
Or do you mean a DBox2 for cable. If it is a Sat box you need to use the rs232 com port to load the Sat firmware in. If its a DBox 1 for cable I can't help you as I don't know of any Images for it.

Yes it is the Nokia Dbox 1 for satellite and I have used the null modem serial lead which successfully connected and downloaded the channel lists, etc, but now the box doesn,t even appear to power up although I have checked the internals and power is still reaching the low voltage side of the power supply circuit. So my problem is now, which ever prog i us to flash it with won't start flashing as it cant find the box connected. I had this problem with a eurovox cable box, but they have a button on the pcb to allow it to be flashed in boot mode without the pc being able to find it, but no such device on this???

The bootloader at a dbox1 is hardware write protected. You cannot kill it.
What software do you use for flashing?

I was using DVBedit to download channel list from box and mainly to verify i had got a correct serial connection which was proved so, as the channel list downloaded fine. Then, as the Dbox had dvb2000 Version 1.84.0, i used the uprade firmware option in dvbedit which seemed to complete without errors. then the box froze, i turned it off, waited the back on but nothing.

    Hi
Google for NSD (Nokia serial downloader 1.2) and try loading dvb2000 back in. Instructions built in, start with power off to box.
