Hi, I have a nokia dbox 2. 2xintel flash. No matter what image I put on it I have the same problem in that when I power the box on I can watch tv for about 10 mins then the box just loses power and turns off itself. If I then pull the plug out and try and plug it in it wont power up again for about 5 mins and then when it does I get the same problem again. Is my box fucked or can it be fixed. Does anyone know what the problem may be?? I put a uk plug on the box after I got it and it was blowing fuses in the plug quite often until i bought a surge protector. It doesnt blow fuses anymore but continues with this switching off problem. Please help im desperate!!!!!!!!!
Well maybe you should not have cut off the germany adapter and put a UK. You should have just used a converter.
because you will never know if you messed the box up, or wheter you bought the box faulty and you wont be able to return it as you have cut the wire and altered it to the UK plug.
nah It worked ok when i got it but the arse I bought it off doesnt answer his mobile when u have a problem. Ive spoken to a guy whos gonna repair it for me. He recons that the changing the plug aint the problem and that the problem is actually with the circuit board. Im gonna let him have a go. thanks for the reply anyway
Yeh there all arses. There nice when they want you to buy it. Once they've sold the item, they dont wanna know you. They just wanted the money. Crazy people Where did u purchase your dbox from? I got mine from ebay, he said 6months garuntee if the seal is not broken. the seal was already broken when i recieved it. Now ive lost the 6months garuntee becuase he thinks ive opened up the box and when i email him he dont reply.
I got it abt a yr back now from a guy who was advertising in the free ads paper. went and met him in a supermarket carpark. Turned up in a yellow transit full of dboxes. Paid the bas***d £150 for it at that time. Im thinkin of maybe gettin a dreambox now. U heard of them? search for them on ebay. Theyre made for the uk market so u get a proper yr long guarantee an everything
Yeh i wanted to buy one of them, but there dont seem to be any support or people talking about them, so i bought a dbox as lots of people talk about them, so that way if it messes up i can ask for help. Does dreambox take the same software, e.g sportster or commando 5? I know the dreambox has a harddrive so you can record straight to the box.

theres a guy in Glasgow selling them as im up in Scotland. I sent him a message on friday to ask if it would be cool to go and pick one up from him as hes charging for postage to send it also I would then be able to see one in action b4 i part with cash but he aint replied. Im kinda wonderin why
Ask him if you can obtain all the channels for free, where you can get software for it and rest of the questions.
hi happy clap watch how much the guy takes for fixing it , as i have repared about 6 dboxes with the same problem ,it basically is a new circuit board that you can buy for £25 , undo 2 screws, unhook 2 cables unclip the board, Putting new one in just reverse the procedure. I ususlly whip the modem out while im in there , as the modem can cause all sorts of problems.
thanks mate for the reply. Ive kind of got the problem fixed. I didnt sent it to him. I opened the screws and it seems to be an overheating problem, it doesnt switch off anymore as long as I leave the lid open to get cold air in there. It seems to be that big brown heatsink type thing at the right hand side back of the box that gets real hot
