Hi there - im new to these forums and looking for advice. Ive recently been told about the Dbox 2 for use on a uk cable signal, my background knowledge of this kit is practicaly zero - i know they are a digital decoder from Germany. I have also heard they run on Linux (dont know how true this is or if it applies to all makes) Im also getting confused on which box to buy as there seems to be a few floating round. So can anyone answer the following for me? 1# What box should i buy? im looking for value for money over pic/sound quality and dont use HD, Dolby 5.1 is as far as i would like. 2# where should i buy from? theres lods on ebay but they all seam to be in Germany, i would rather buy from a uk dealer if poss. 3# does anyone have any information on these boxes? (ive messaged bluemoon following her gracious offer on the main thread) but would apreciate anyones advice before i part myself with my hard earned pennies. last of all thanks for reading and mucho thanks if you help me. to answer your question 1 - currently the most common ones are sagem and nokia - you can get philips but I have never seen on. If buying from Ebay make sure its not DBox I. Most people prefer Nokia but I have used both and they both seem to do the same job. 2 - If you can source a UK dealer then buy it from UK else you will have to get one from Germany - expect to pay abour 100 quid plus 20 quid shipping. 3 - email me directly at admin@netwave.redirectme.net and I will assist you.
