CUD SOME 1 PLEASE HELP? I HAV A NOKIA DBOX ITS FEW YEARS OLD SO I DONT NO IF ITS DBOX1 OR2. ITS HAS COMMANDO 4 ON IT AND WAS RUNNING OK UNTIL VIRGIN STARTED THEIR ANTICS A FEW WEEKS BACK. I HAVE PUT THE NEW CODES IN FOR THE GATESHEAD AREA (NORTH EAST)BUT STILL GETTING ONLY FREE VIEW
COULD SOME 1 PLEAS TELL ME HOW TO SET IT UP PROPERLY

 

sorry mate is this beta? i have just put codes in other key lists and got most channels now. but cant get any kids channels or sky movies or sports cud u help mate.

 

Just FTP the Latest 7/10/and 11 roms across

hi have you got the nagraroms 7 10 & 11 ?
if not then first get them if you cant find them around these threads then pm me your email addey and ill send them to you
you will then need a bit of network knowledge ( or at least be able to follow instruction ) it easy ive done it with the guidence of turner123 (but he's been suspended till 30th)
like i say if i can be of any help ( not that i know much about this )just pm (personel message ) me

 

set your box to these settings just check that they are correct as follows:-
Press dbox button on remote
Scroll to settings press ok
Scroll down to network press ok
In the menu you should have the setting of the dbox
Ip address 192.168.1.110
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Broadcast 192.168.1.255
Default gateway 192.168.1.1
Dns server 192.168.1.1



set pc to 192.168.1.109
255.255.255.0
192.168.1.255

make sure you disable all other network conections and just use the local network conection, one done open ftp

host 192.168.1.110
user root
password dbox or dbox2 or if using commado image pass is commando
there is also another password possibility but i cant remember it at present i will put it here when i find it ok

you will need a crossover network cable NOT the usual patch lead that you use to plug your pc into your router or modem, if you have not got one then you willl have to buy one or buy the little adapter that goes on the end and turns a patch lead into a Xover
it can also be done with a nullmodem cable but that a whole different kettle of fish and i have not done that so i will stick to what worked for me ok

you will also need to disable your firewall whilst you do this

you will need a ftp (file transfer protacol) programme i used smartftp and a free 30day trail version is freely available just google it
type in the ip addey of you box (which if you follow this guide) will be 192.168.1.110 it will then ask you for the username and password input these
then in the ftp browse to folder "var\keys" in there you will find the 3 files you have to replace with the ones i sent you (nagraroms 7 10 11 .bin files)
then reboot the box and from then on in it should auto update , at the very worst you should have to just switch the box off and back on again to get it working any probs just let me know

i hve dun wat grinlike told me and wen i try to connect to my box it it connects then keeps saying this An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine.

you are entering username/password incorrectly - try 'root' as username and 'commando' for password, or 'root' as username and password.

 

thankyou sharp786 i agree with you this sounds like just a username or password error
i will see if i can find outwhat possible username and passwords there are (but this may be inpossable)

ive just checked my box and it says commando 4 version return of the jedi . just checked my image and it says retun of the jedi cheers mate

 

Hi that's a new 1 on me if we can not find the correct username & password the only other option open to you is to reflash the box with an updated image
i will have to confirm some things first but i'll be back
you may need a nullmodem cable but that 1 of the things ill have to confirm

oioi grinlike finaly got into the box i dun network test on me box and it gave me a an ip addey that was reachable. typed it into smart ftp bingo/ used root for user and pass. got files deleted old roms added new 1ns is that it do i have reebooted box and lost most chanels i had b4 will i just do a rescan cheers mate
