    Hi guys,

    Got a Sagem dbox2, I installed commando 6. I had to convert it to type 1.

    It installed OK, but when I search for channels I don't get any. I have used bruteforce UK and added in my area code.

    I don't have my symbol rate and don't know how to get it.

    Anyway, I tried theDon image and it fecked up, so now I am running Flashing Assistant to sort it out, which takes bloody hours.

    Anyway, once I have put Commando back on, how do I get my channels?

    Please help!!!!!!!!!!

    Where do you get the service files for your area and what do you do with them once you have them?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

    When I flashed my dbox2 I wasn't able to to scan various cable providers for channels in my area. After reading up on forums, I found out I needed to copy a cables.xml file into the config folder. This file contains a list of all cable providers and teh frequency to scan on.

    Once I copied it over, I was able to scan the correct provider and found the channels.

    Regarding the services.xml file, this will be auto-generated when you run a scan.

    If you open the servoces.xml file in notepad you will see the following lines:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!--
    This file was automatically generated by a channel scan.
    It will be overwritten by future scans. Therefore, it is advisable, NOT to
    make manual changes to this file. For entries to be added, use the file
    myservices.xml. Entries to be removed can be put in the file antiservices.xml.
    Both reside in the same directory, and has the same syntax as this file.
    -->
    <zapit>

    Good luck!

    please be aware never edit the xml file within Notepad - although its a text based file, Notespad fusks up the formatting of the file.

    If you want to edit an XML file locally I suggest doing a google for a free XMl editor and using that...

    copy the services file to the /var/tuxbox/config/zappit folder (i think) ftp in to box and have a look for it.
