the scenario is that i cannot get digital virgin media tv at my new house, however i can get the analogue virgin media tv so all i want to know is what is the difference between digital and analogue signals on virgin media and whether the dbox2 will receive the same channels on these analogue signals that i was receiving at my old house on digital signals?

    regards

A dbox2 is for digital channels. If there are no digital channels you get nothing from a dbox.
The tuner of your TV is responsible for receiving the analogue channels and if some are scrambled you will get a additional box for descrambling.
