does any body know if there are any plans to use DDR3 for more than graphics cards?

i.e will i soon be able to go out and buy a DDR3 memory module because to be quite honest i wouldnt mind having RAM that has bus speeds of 1 - 2 GHz

If theyre not using it for motherboards... why not?

DDR4 will be out next year for video cards. As for pc ram running at 1gighz thats already available. Crucial has it. Its not cheap, around 250.00 for 512 megs and around 470.00 for a gig. As for DDR3 PC ram I dont see that happening for a while since AMD wont start supporting DDR2 till early nexy year.
