Got a quick question... My Mobo can handle a max of 1 gig of DDR 2100 memory (I know sad) but, anyway I have 2 slots for DDR memory. What if I had one slot empty, and the other slot filled with a 1 gig stick of memory, would that fry out my Mobo? Vs just having 2 sticks of 512mb ?
Hey Well if you only have 2 RAM slots, and can only support 1G total, each slot will only be able to take 512mb Chip MAX. Therefore if u put a 1GB RAM chip, it will either Not work or will only show as 512mb. So, easisest way, buy 2 512mb Chips. Regards CoZZa
Depends on the motherboard... siome motherboards have an additional limitation on the maximum size of individual modules
Now if Asus or another quality board manufacturer can get a good PCI express ready board on the market we might have something.
