Hey guys I have been using the AVI audio decompress tool for my avi that use vbr audio and haven't had any problems. I tried to decompress a certain file and got an error saying that it could not render audio stream. Why is this happening? Thanks for your help again.

Try running it through Virtual Dub. Insert the .avi and then go up to Video and select "direct stream copy" and then go up to Audio and select "Full processing mode".

    Tell us how it goes.

The files don't even playback properly in virtualdub. The video is all there but the audio is silent. I got it working by importing the avi into goldwave and saving the wav. Could it be a codec issue? Avisynth is telling me that it can't decompress either.

Well, what codecs do you have installed?

    Xvid, divx, rm, ac3 filter?

All of those ones. When I ran the file through GSpot it said that the audio codec was lame mp3 ver 3.92. I have lame installed that's why I can't figure out why I am getting the error.
