Decrypter doesn't recongize my dvd

    hello guys, I am trying to backup this movie in file mode using decrypter.I don't know what I am doing wrong, decrypter just can't read it. it say device not ready.(unable to recover toc.) any ideas on what's going on here? thank you.

    Can you play the movie in your PC? Sometimes starting the movie in your media player, pausing it and then starting Decrypter will unlock it.

    When you open Decrypter and already have a movie in your drive your Decrypter log should look like this:

    I 21:02:51 DVD Decrypter Version 3.5.4.0 started!
    I 21:02:51 Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 1)
    I 21:02:51 Initialising SPTI...
    I 21:02:51 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...
    I 21:02:51 Found 1 DVD-ROM and 1 DVD±RW!

    Try another movie and see if it does the same thing.

    thank you fasfrank, I did try a different movie it work just fine, but this one I don't know , I just can't get it to work.
    You think I should try to play it on my pc and use decrypter at the same time will solve this problem?

    hello, I try playing this movie on my pc with no succes, my computer doesn't even wanna play it. it says some files may be corrupted. last I played it on my dvd player it work just fine. and there are no majors damages to it. any suggestions?

    You can try cleaning it. If your computer will not recognize it that really limits your options.

    You can try this or a similar program, but you need to open the DVD in your PC. You didn't say you couldn't open the disc only that you could not play the movie. So I'm thinking there may be a chance to read it with something like this:

    cdcheck (free) is the way to go It came highly reccomended to me and now highly reccomended to you. if the corrupted files can be fixed than this will do it. ok here it is http://www.elpros.si/CDCheck/ try it out and post results good luck hope it helps
