    Hi,

    I am looking for the decypher code to pull the HDD Key out of the
    EEPROM.BIN file on Windows. Can anyone help me get a code snippit of provide a code sample? I know all the locations for each chunk of information such as Mac addy, serial number, HDD key, but some of it is incrypted (like the HDD key) and I need to decypher it.

    Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

    Live info DOS NOT give the correct HDD password!!!
    I have ran a dozen eeprom.bin files thur it and it never gave the same password as EVOX did on the xbox!!

    So somewhere someones program is not working right.

    I don't mean to be an ass** about it but I am tring to get the HDD keys out of an eeprom.bin file WITHOUT using an xbox to do it. I want to do it on a PC.

    Thanks anyway...

    I should also add that I am working on a version 1.6 xbox

    And the newest version of liveinfo is beta 3, your link is beta 2 which dosn't support version 1.6 but beta 3 does.

    It would be great if others would check to make sure I am not wrong!!!

    Download LiveInfo beat 3 and read a version 1.6 xbox eeprom.bin file and see if it gives the same info for the HDD unlock key.

    Here is a samle of what I get....

    on an modded xbox this is the HDD file info with the keys...
    ---------------
    Disk Serial Number : "5JRJJALL "
    Disk Model Number : "ST310014A "
    HDD Key : e4:c6:ea:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
    7e:84:01:82:ff:ff:ff:1b
    4d:6d:ff:ff:00:00:00:00
    00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00

    HDDLockDisablePassword e4 c6 ea ff ff ff ff ff 7e 84 01 82 ff ff ff 1b ff ff ff ff 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

    XboxHDKey 64 3f 1f e9 3b f6 1c 2f 94 fb b0 91 2a 57 aa ef

    Of course the HDD KEY was edited with ff in places by me but the xboxHDKey is real.
    ---------------
    now for what LiveInfo says in its CFG file I created...

    #Please note ALL fields and Values are Case Sensitive !!

    [EEPROMDATA]
    XBOXSerial = "313791xxxxxx"
    XBOXMAC = "00:0D:ff:ff:ff:C4"

    OnlineKey = "42:96:8F:A6:EB:04:14:45:DA:15:2D:00:67:11:75:91"

    #ONLY Use NTSC or PAL for VideoMode
    VideoMode = "NTSC"

    #ONLY Use 01, 02 or 04 for XBE Region
    XBERegion = "01"

    HDDKey = "64:3F:1F:E9:3B:F6:1C:2F:94:FB:B0:91:2A:57:AA:EF"

    The HDDkey matches the XboxHDKey 64 3f 1f e9 3b f6 1c 2f 94 fb b0 91 2a 57 aa ef key but this isn't the key to unlock the hard drive with.

    I need this
    HDD Key : e4:c6:ea:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
    7e:84:01:82:ff:ff:ff:1b
    4d:6d:ff:ff:00:00:00:00
    00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00

    for the real key to unlock with.

    Thanks,
    unicron

    This might sound like this is a stupid question but what exactly are you trying to achieve ?
    it seems as though you already have the hardrive key

    No not a stupied question.. heres the story.

    I bought an xbox for $45 bucks off ebay cause it was suppost to be bad harddrive..

    Ok I get it and it works perfect but always loads to an updating xbox live screen, which it then wants to update xbox live, but can't connect to the internet so it say try again later press OK.
    So I click ok and it starts al over again tring to connect to xbox live to do an update, but can;t so it say click OK....

    Ummm, you see where I am going with this.... infinate loop.

    Sooo... I built a eeprom reader and read the xbox eeprom to get make a eeprom.bin file, but NOW i need to decypher the HDD KEY so I can put the Hard Drive into my computer and unlock it so I can use fatxexplore to wipe files off of the xbox cause I belive the HD is full and thats why it can't sownload the xbox live update and gets stuck in a lopp.. no Hd space left, no cashe for the dash and stuff to run.

    (and yes... I did for two days try to connect to xbox live I even packet sniffed the xbox to see if it was talking to Microsoft and it is, but it is returning an error saying NO CASHE)

    I just want to dig thur my HD and fix it or wipe it or whatever, but need the Key. And I know I could just spend $35 on a mod chip... but thats not how we learn things to help our selfs and others now is it?

    Now if there is a linux disc that I can boot up to give me the HDD KEy or anyother Idea from someone that would be cool!!! I plan on making a tutorial on how to read the xbox eeprom WITHOUT desolding it from the board and extracting the HD KEY from the .bin file you make when you read it.

    WOW!!! This could help all kinds of ppl who have DEAD xboxs but want to HD KEY from the eeprom, or maybe you want to re-program your eeprom cause you got banned from Live, my programmer will let you do this!

    Thanks,

    Unicron

    From the information that you have given the HD Key is this one:

    e4c6eaffffffffff7e840182ffffff1bffffffff

    ignore the :) & the 0's at the end of the hd key)

    Ahhhh...

    I guess I own the writers of Liveinfo an appogiy.

    I was able to unlock my HDD using xboxhdm-v1.9 linux dist.
    I placed the eeprom.bin file I made in the eeprom folder, made the ISO and burned it, then I booted the CD, did option 6 genrate xbox passsword
    to check against the one liveinfo gave me, they matched!!

    so then I did option 7, create dos boot disk with unlock/lock utils.
    booted that up, run unlockx with my password, then reset computer booted the CD up again and did xexplore and got into my Hard drive!! WOOO HOOO!

    Then I saw all the games and mp3's and crap on the drive, so I think it was full, so I deleted all of them off.

    Now if I can get it locked again and have the xbox boot up ok I'll be set, I guess! Wish me luck!
