Deleted Dashboard

I had an evox dashboard on my xbox and I accidently deleted. I have the dashboard saved on my PC HD so I tried to make a boot disk to try to get the dashboard back up so I can ftp the dashboard back in but it wont work. I have followed alot of guides but but nothing will work for me. Is there any other way to get any dashboard back up on my xbox?

haha. to be able to put linux on the hard drive you need the dashboard. which i somehow mysteriously erased. so now i can only play games. so im trying to figure out how to boot the xbox or hotswap or something. but the file isnt done downloading yet.

No. You can't ftp into your xbox using the ms dashboard. Since I deleted my other dashboard the ms dashboard is all i have now.

The thing is I got my friend to do it for me. So I have no idea what to do.

i tried hot swapping. no luck at all.

and then i dl'd the m$ dashboard
and xboxhdm and tried to make the hd like new again.
it wouldnt work. like, it would get to a specific menu. and the next option would be to type xboxhd and the keyboard wouldnt work. i tried everything i could think of. read the tut. a few times thoroughly. so im going to give up and just buy a matched motherboard and hd from http://www.llamma.com and then actually use a modchip. preferably xecuter 3. solderless.
