Deleted my Ms Dash, now cant FTP or bootup.

I done this a while ago. I think i done it by accident but anyways thats done now, i was wondering is there anyway i can get this fixed? Its not modchipped. Can i not just buy a new (bigger) harddrive and install the xbox software on that through my pc? if there is a way can someone please let me know. Even if i have to modchip it.

Well iv ordered a mod chip, should be here today or tomorrow... Gunna try put it in my self.. worth a shot as yours is mine is just gathering dust.

I just got the cheap Aladdin XT cost me like £16 or something but its only to get things back up and running, i havent soldered since school so it should be fun, i wanted to practice anyways. I was thinking about chipping my wii my self but i thought noooo am not risking breaking it lol

If you accidentally delete the MS dash on a softmod there's a simple little hack that works about 80% of the time.

We call it "The Halo2 Fix"
Pop a late issue live enabled game like halo2 (hence the name) without any network connection.. Cold boot the game and go to live settings. A screen pops up with text along the lines of "updating dash files"
Wait for it to complete. remove the disk.. reboot and you should have a working ms dash again. You usually need to redo the softmod.

Give it a go in the first instance. It has been tested lots of times (I have used it myself many times on messed up softmods, with varying degrees of success)

If it was that simple, you could just reinstall the modded dash...

That trick normally only works for Error 21 situations!

 

And error 16.. I deleted various dash files while testing this trick.. The one that doesn't seem to be replaced is the xboxdash.xbe and that's why it isn't a 100% fix. For the time it takes to try it's always worth a go.

If original games don't boot it's a different matter.. that's the sign of a missing C:\xboxdash.xbe

 

yeh, my brother renamed it trying to be cool but he screwed up... i tried hot swap and not work so im looking for a web site so i can get a mod chip

well iv installed the mod chip.. still when i turn it on with a backed up game i stil get the 21 error. What do i need to do to get my dash back?

Well i still cant run games or ftp to it.. Iv tryed hotswapping the harddrive into my pc but it doesnt pick it up. Maybe im doing the hotswap wrong.. any hints or tips.. Still getting 21 error

 

for hotswapping do i put the harddrive into the PC and boot it into windows ?? or leave it as primary and only harddrive and boot from a CD im confused.

 

Well i figured out the hotswapping.. but now it seems to hang on the XBOX pic with the microsoft under it, doesnt go any further?
