deleting some parts of avi file

    hi

    i want to delete some parts of an avi file just to make the file size smaller.
    i just want to know what program i need to do it and how to do it.

    VirtualDub works fine.

    Open VirtualDub
    Click File >> Open video file >> select file >> click open

    Pull the slider bar to get to roughly where you want to begin the cut. Use the key frame icons to get to the exact start delete place.

    Use the left black arrow to mark begin.

    Go to the end of the place you want to delete.

    Use the right black arrow to mark end.

    The area in between the two marks should now be blue.

    Click the delete key.

    If you are only cutting out sections, then before you save click Video >> Direct Stream Copy. This will make the save go faster.

    To save, click File >> Save as AVI
