deleting stubborn files!!

    hello,
    can some one please help me. i unzipped some files to my desktop and now im having trouble deleting them. well its actually just one but ive tried everything to get rid of it i.e killbox, unlocker, restarting and running in safe mode, msdos command rmdir, but i still cant delete it. each time i see it i get angry cuz its so annoying. i jus got my laptop n i dont want to format it yet. can someone pls help. thanks

    You may have to get a bootable disc such as BartPE and access <drive letter>:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Desktop and delete the directory that way.

    Do you get an error message? If so what is it and what is the name of the file? Also any information in properties such as maker or version.... any info? Change folder options to all visable as a hidden file may be using it. What was the name of the orginal compresed file including extension. Not being able to delete a file usually means it is being used by something or set it's self to protected. Also try a system restore to a point before you extracted the file. If all else fails post a hijackthis log in the virus room.

    And STOP extracting files on your desktop! Scan them and move them somewhere else first.

    thanks man. got it to work a few days ago. but now i got water in it by accident. so sad..........
