I recently purchased a Trendnet Wireless G PCI adapter to install in my Dell Dimension 2400. I installed the firmware first, according to the directions that came with it, shut down the computer, installed the card into the PCI adapter, and made sure it was all the way in. When I tried to boot up the computer it wouldn't boot. At first it made start up sounds like normal, with the fans and all, but then suddenly stopped for about 3 or 4 seconds then started again and just sat there after that. Nothing showed up but a blank screen and just the sound of fans running in the tower. So, I removed the card and tried to start it up again but the same thing happened.

I didn't have time to mess with it for a few days until today and I made sure all the internal plugs were secure and not loose and turned it on again but this time all that happens is the amber light on the front of the tower just flashes. According to the manual it says some piece of hardware isn't working right but the adapter that started all this has been removed.

    What do I do?

reseat all cards, ram & power\data cables on motherboard. reseat all power\data cables to drives. try clearing the cmos as have found that to work sometimes in kickstarting a stubborn system.
