Im thinking of getting a laptop from dell. I dont know all tha specs but i know some. Keep in mind that i only wanna play Sims2 and Lineage, nothing heavy like DOOM3 and im on a budget.

    Dell Inspiron 6000

    Pentium Centrino

    128 ATI RADEON VIDEO CARD

    60 GB Hard Drive

    DVD/CD Reader, Writer

Thats all i know, im sorry if its not enough but if any one could help me out, it'd be great.

Thanks, Remember, 2000 budget and nothing too heavy in graphics.

I admit that Dell has a lead in laptop gaming but I think you're just throwing away your money if you order from them. If you want to "feel" the laptop then you can look at whatever model in the store and then customize it to your needs. ABS isn't in stores, but I don't care with performance so highly-catered to gaming. This is nice: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16834224018

Thats gorgeous Kinza, ill get it, but one more question. I also want a desktop pc. Nothing fancy, something that can run The Sims 2 smoothly. The lappy is for the road which im on occasionally. I really dont wanna spend more than 500(usd) on a desktop. I know its a little unheard of but how does this sound.

    eMACHINES (Wal-mart clearance $574)

    17-inch CRT flat screen monitor

    AMD Sempron 3000+ processor

    512 MB RAM

    120 GB hard drive

    nVidia GeForce4 MX Graphics

    10/100Mbps Ethernet LAN (integrated) network

    Pair of desktop speakers

Try and get back to me. id love lots of opinions. Remember.
Sims2 smooth. No more than $600 desktop budget, no online ordering for me!

Which one did you think was gorgeous? If you're planning to run Doom 3 than you're gonna need a better graphics card. If you're planning on getting a desktop replacement then it's going to be a bit on the heavy side, close to 9 pounds. Can you tell me the model number of the Emachines laptop? It will run the office productivity applications fine, probably not to good for gaming. I just ordered a Compaq/HP R4000, didn't come yet but it's a great deal for the price. Way better than the Emachines but not the best. Here's the link, get at least a Athlon 64 3200+ processor. The memory upgrade is extrememly overpriced through HP so I would get one stick and add another myslef.

oops, i seem to have misread!! sorry. well that changes everything. id still suggest going for the r4000, great deal. as for desktops, you can do way better than that for $500.

I would recommend Dell desktops, sometimes, well a lot of times they have online coupons for like $750. Anyways, what's the model number for the emachines?

don't touch a dell as a pain to get parts as they use nonstandard boards & psu's

I don't think you need an Alienware but for 999 how can you go wrong? Since you do some business I would suggest getting an Intel Centrino since they are known to conserve battery life.
