okay, so everytime i load my dads laptop, it gives a screen after the windows sign saying i might have a hardware issue or something, and i dont have the recovery disc, so how do i fix this screwed up laptop? it says this on the blue screen: A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. Probably BAD RAM. If you have more than one SODIMM you can swap them around. This will not "fix" the problem but you can verify it's bad RAM because the address will typicall change. The you can start to remove one SODIMM at a time and see which one causes the laptop to halt. If you only have one SODIMM, it's simple. Buy a new on and replace it.
