MY 17" Dell flat screen monitor went blank screen on me. The power light stays green but there isnt any picture. The same thing happened to my mother in-law recently. I called dell and my warrenty expired just a couple of weeks ago. Does anyone know if i have any options to get this thing fixed?

Bad luck I'm afraid. Contact an LCD repair shop or see if Dell will repair it at a charge.

Would a place like best buy be able to fix it? and
then you think i should ask dell to pay for it?

If it's out of warranty I doubt Dell will pay for it. As for best Buy, I'm not sure best buy would, and even if they did, I'm not sure I'd trust them.

It could be all manner of things, faulty power feed to the panel, faulty panel, faulty control chip...

Should I just go to a computer repair shop? I don't really know of any lcd repair shops in my area.

You could try that but they might not necessarily have the means to repair LCDs there.
